Day 7 - Things are Getting a Bit Crazy

First things first. Germany beat Argentina 4-2 in penalty kicks after the German goalie made two really nice saves. We got a bunch of pictures of Germans going crazy. We also got to witness some good ole fashion football hooligans in action. A couple of guys started some shit behind us and people were getting pushed around. Some guy had a busted lip and was bleeding all over the place. I was about to step in and crack some Deutsch skulls but Ted grabbed my arm and said, "I am scared, hold me." Obviously I knocked him upside the head and he snapped out of it. Luckily three very large Germans, all wearing light pink polo shirts and covered from head to toe in tattoos, stepped in and broke things up. Those guys were lucky I didn't get involved.
Flashback to last night:
When we last left our heros (aka, Les and Ted), we were on our way to a beer hall. You'll be happy to hear that we made it and proceeded to eat and drink ourselves silly at Georgbaeu Brauhaus.
Les's menu:
Geschmorte Schweinhaxe (braised pork leg)
a pitcher of the house brew (Dunkel)
Ted had some Deftiger Rindergoulasch (beef stew) and a pitcher of the house brew, also Dunkel (frekin' copy cat).
It was all very very good, best meal of the trip and personally my favorite beer so far.
Dream land...stupid people getting in at 5:30 and bein' all loud and shit. They'll get their comeuppance tomorrow morning when we are getting up at 5.
Lazy morning today since the game was our only real plan. Left the hostel around 11 and proceeded to Brandenburg Gate. Hung out around there and had some delicious pastries. Well, Ted had some flaky pastries, I on the other hand ate the souls of the small children walking by. I win. Satiated, we walked to Victory Tower in the Tiergarten. Long walk. Good thing I had filled up on souls. Hopped the bus back to Brandenburg Gate and had "some" beer and bratwursts.

Finished our brews and feelin' ready to go cheer on Deutschland we walked over to the big screen viewing area. Apparently it filled up 3 hours before the game, so us arriving two hours before were well behind the times. We ended up walking all the way back to Victory Tower and watching the game on a big screen down there. We had some good seats and were surronded by a bunch of crazy Deutschlanders.
Argentina scored (sad Deutschlanders)
Germany scored (happy Deutschalnders)
Penalty kicks (salkgjsaödlitöuoweitzh öwoerahtöowaeih töwoai8hg öog Deutschlanders)
That about sums up the game. Craziness. As we were walking back, the Poletzi were out in full force. Riot squad gear donned and everything. And half of the riot squad police were females. Attractive females. Seriously, I think that some of the best looking women in Germany must be Berlin cops. I had a great idea that invovled Ted starting some shit with one of the poletzi and then getting knocked out followed up by some CPR by one of the hot cops. He mumbled something about it being a good idea except that Whitney would kill him. I said we could work around that. Still trying to work around it. Anyways, Ted is tired and looking rather like a sissy. Head down on the table and stuff. Guess we'll get his butt back to the hostel and get ready for a rockin' time in Prague. I hope Prague is ready to get F'd in the A.

Quote(s) of the Day:
Ted (bobbing in and out of the crowd): Follow me Les, I am a walking shortest path algorithm!
(During a deep discussion on religion, politics and life helped along by nearly two liters of beer a piece)
Ted: Instead of thinking for themseleves, and potentially hurting themseleves in the process, they blindly follow what someone else says.
...
Too bad I wasn't there first.
